Archistaves are Sorcerer equipment
An archistaff is not a Mage staff. The native vocation here is Sorcerer, including Sorcerer Pawns, while Warfarer offers the Arisen broader compatibility. For Mage equipment, use the separate staves page.
The Sorcerer profile connects the family with the vocation's abilities. A shared visual shape does not mean Mage and Sorcerer have identical support actions or that an item grants an entire set of learned spells.
Grievous Horns and the guild request
Grievous Horns is the current named example: an archistaff associated with a Trevo Mine chest and Vocation Frustration. The row records that source, not a purchase price. A missing price is not an offer to buy it for zero gold.
2 selected archistaves records. Base reference values before enhancement, reviewed 2026-10-12. This is not an exhaustive list or a current-patch gameplay test. Each name links to its canonical acquisition record; the row's source supports its recorded values.

Keep the acquisition and unlock tasks separate
The shared table also includes Lion-Lord’s Archistaff. Its recorded acquisition is shop at Sacred Arbor. Read the source and access notes before treating it as an available upgrade.
Finding the archistaff and completing the guild's equipment request are distinct steps. Keep the find until you have checked the quest and any required hand-in. Do not assume a second chest, guaranteed replacement vendor or reload trick will restore equipment you have already disposed of.
If you already have Sorcerer available, treat this as a location reference rather than a claim that Grievous Horns is your next upgrade. The small sample is not a complete list of stronger alternatives.
Compare the spellcasting setup
Our recommendation is to choose the abilities and party role first, then compare compatible equipment at the same enhancement state. An item's Magick value is not the final damage of every spell, and the staff alone does not solve casting time, positioning or protection from interruptions.
Use Pawn party preparation for the surrounding group, and equipment enhancement for upgrade decisions. Individual values and acquisition corrections belong in the shared catalogue rather than a separate copy on this page.
