The Mage weapon family
Staves are Mage equipment. Sorcerer uses archistaves, even though both families resemble casting implements. Mage Pawns can equip compatible staves, and Warfarer is included in this family's Arisen compatibility.
The Mage profile explains core actions such as Anodyne and the distinction between vocation skills and equipment. An ordinary staff is not an unlock item that grants the full Sorcerer skill list.
Unfettered Claw reference
The shared table also includes Solar Numen. Its recorded acquisition is shop at Bakbattahl. Read the source and access notes before treating it as an available upgrade.
Unfettered Claw is a named staff example, despite its name sounding unlike a casting implement. Its published reference identifies Roderick's and Celeste's smithies. The table links to the single equipment record used by the weapon directory and Gear Finder.
2 selected staves records. Base reference values before enhancement, reviewed 2026-10-12. This is not an exhaustive list or a current-patch gameplay test. Each name links to its canonical acquisition record; the row's source supports its recorded values.

Select around your support job
For our Mage support setup, first decide which party needs the character is intended to cover. Choose and learn the appropriate abilities, then compare compatible equipment. A weapon's Magick value is not, by itself, a measured amount of healing from every ability or proof that the loadout contains a particular cleansing spell.
When buying for the main Pawn, check the Pawn's actual vocation and equipped skills as well as the staff. Changing an item and changing a combat role are not the same task.
Spend materials deliberately
Compare the reference value with the enhancement state of the staff you already own. Before upgrading, inspect the in-game enhancement preview and available materials. We do not turn a qualitative support recommendation into a guessed healing formula.
The Pawn guide and equipment enhancement reference provide the next steps. This table intentionally contains a selected example, not a complete progression ladder from the first staff to every expansion weapon.
