Physical bows, not magick bows
Archer is a starting ranged vocation. It uses bows, while Magick Archer is a separate vocation with a different weapon family. Check that distinction before buying a ranged weapon: a familiar-looking name does not establish compatibility.
Know the basic actions
Loose is the quick shooting action. Steady Shot is the deliberate aiming action, and drawing the bow changes its behavior. Front Kick provides a close-range response. The Archer reference also lists Leaping Punt, Parting Shot, Swift Nock and Puncture Dart as learnable core skills rather than interchangeable weapon items.
Learn the distinction between the actions already in your kit and skills that still need to be purchased at a guild. A guide discussing a learned core skill is not evidence that your newly selected vocation already has it.
Suggested positioning routine
Our suggested practice is to choose a firing position with two exits: one away from the target and another away from nearby terrain. Fire a short sequence, look around, and reposition before beginning the next sequence. Use aimed shots when you can actually see the target you intend to hit rather than aiming through your own frontline.
When an enemy reaches you, first identify whether the issue was a poor position, too much time spent aiming or a missing close-range response. Changing one variable is more useful than replacing the entire loadout after a single fight. Use combat fundamentals to keep stamina and recovery in mind.
Party and equipment decisions
A ranged player can ask the rest of the party to cover close pressure and recovery rather than assigning every companion the same task. That is a composition suggestion, not a guarantee that an enemy will never target the Archer.
Veteran’s Arc is one named physical bow in the current equipment sample. Its record gives a documented vendor and base attributes. It is not labelled best-in-slot, and the sample is not a complete progression ladder. Compare it to your current bow in the same enhancement state before making a purchase.
