Calculate remaining upgrade materials
10 equipment items with reviewed recipes; 35 catalogue items selectable. Ten selected base-game equipment references. Recipes and fees are transcribed per item, style and step from published tables, not derived from purchase prices. Current-patch or personal gameplay verification is not claimed. Unknown recipes remain unavailable. Stat results, special endgame enhancement systems, discounts and travel costs are excluded. Check your current smithing menu before spending resources.
Choose the style for each future step; earlier enhancements are not charged again. Wyrmfire is a separate final payment after Level 3. Owned quantities stay in this page's memory while you compare selections; reset clears them, and reload discards the calculation.
Broadsword: Unenhanced → Level 3. Reference requirements for the selected remaining steps.

| Step / style | Materials for this step | Gold fee |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1Vermundian | No materials required by this recorded step | 240 G |
| Level 2Vermundian | Slate-Colored Horn × 2 | 576 G |
| Level 3Vermundian | Misshapen Eye × 1 Saurian Tail × 2 | 1,440 G |
Materials and Gold still needed
Blank owned fields assume zero for this shopping calculation. Enter whole numbers from 0 to 999,999,999; negatives, decimals and exponent notation are rejected. Balances are your own entries and are not read from a game save. Surplus cannot create a negative deficit.
| Material | Required | Owned | Still needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Misshapen Eye | 1 | 1 | |
| Saurian Tail | 2 | 2 | |
| Slate-Colored Horn | 2 | 2 |
Wyrmslife Crystals remain their own material quantity, never a Gold conversion. This calculation excludes equipment purchase, discounts, supplies, travel and stat results. Use the material-run guide and compare the final bill in game.
Choose an item with recorded recipes
This calculator covers Broadsword, Almace, Unfettered Claw, Chain Mail, Flamberge, Veteran’s Arc, Redolent Whisper, The Exalted, Continental Shield and Bardiche Daggers. Each has separate published requirements for Vermundian, Elven, Battahli and Dwarven smithing at Levels 1–3, plus a Wyrmfire payment. These are 130 explicit recipe records, not a formula derived from the item's shop price. The small sample includes physical, elemental and magick weapons and body armor; it is not the full equipment database.
The item selector also lists the other equipment already in the site's catalogue. Their recipes are marked not yet reviewed. Choosing one produces a missing-data explanation, rather than borrowing another item's ingredients or declaring the item impossible to enhance. There is no combined total for an incomplete path. The Gear Finder remains useful for finding these items' acquisition references.
Select only the steps you still need
Set Current enhancement to the level already reached in your game, then choose Target enhancement. The calculator includes steps after the current level through the target. Starting at Level 2 and targeting Level 3 charges only the third step, rather than paying again for the first two enhancements.
If current and target match, no additional steps are selected. A lower target is rejected: this tool cannot undo an enhancement, return materials or decide whether a reset service is available in your game version. It also cannot verify that the equipment in your inventory actually has the level you entered.
Choose a smithing style separately for each remaining ordinary step. A mixed path reads each chosen row independently. Changing the style changes the materials for that step; it does not recalculate previously completed enhancements. Hidden earlier style choices are excluded from the bill. This is a cost plan, not a calculation of the item's resulting Strength, Magick, weight or knockdown attributes.
Keep Wyrmfire payment separate
Selecting Wyrmfire as the target includes the remaining ordinary steps followed by the final crystal payment. Starting at Level 3 includes only Wyrmfire. The reviewed tables list 15 Wyrmslife Crystals for each of the nine sampled weapons and 10 for Chain Mail, with no Gold charge for that step. These amounts are item records, not a universal weapon or armor rule.
Crystals remain a material row. They are never converted to Gold, multiplied into a purchase price or treated as a substitute for an unknown ordinary fee. The enhancement overview explains smithing services and the base-game sequence. This calculator does not cover new special endgame enhancement systems, service unlock completion or access to the Dragonforged.
Use the material shopping list
The step table shows the individual ingredients and Gold fees before the combined list. The shopping list adds repeated material IDs across the remaining steps, so the same material is counted once with its total required quantity. A recorded first enhancement that needs Gold but no materials is displayed as such; that is different from an unknown recipe.
Enter the quantity you already own next to each material, and optionally enter Gold owned. Still needed is the required amount minus your entered balance, stopping at zero. Owning more than the requirement does not create a negative number or a payment rebate. Blank owned fields assume zero for this shopping calculation.
Inputs accept whole numbers from 0 to 999,999,999. Negative numbers, decimals, exponent notation and values outside that range are flagged. The affected deficit remains unavailable until the field is corrected; an invalid balance is not silently changed to zero. Resource fields that disappear when comparing another item or path do not participate in that selection's deficit.
Compare the reference bill with the game
The first four item recipes were reviewed from published tables on October 12, 2026; six additional tables were reviewed on October 13. Each selected item shows its own source-review date. Chain Mail's ordinary fees and several material rows were also corroborated against the Gamer Guides equipment table. Source agreement on those fields is not proof of every output stat; this calculator deliberately omits upgraded-stat simulation. Some direct Game8 and Fandom requests were unavailable, so no access to those full pages is claimed.
A source-review date is not a patch-certification date or a personal gameplay test. Before spending a rare material, compare the displayed requirement with your platform's current Enhance Equipment menu. Purchase prices, discounts, travel, supplies, skill effects and unrecorded upgrades are excluded. Use the material-run guide to plan where to look, rather than assuming a drop probability or exact farming duration.
Reset and browser behavior
The selection and owned balances stay in this page's memory while you compare items, levels and styles. Changing equipment does not automatically clear your entered stock. Reset calculator returns to the default Broadsword path and clears all owned balances. Reloading or leaving this page discards the calculation; it does not edit the saved Build Planner or either tracker.
The calculator does not read a game save, inventory, account or server profile, and it does not store these inputs in browser local storage. Without JavaScript, the default Broadsword result and this help are readable, but interactive selection and deficit inputs do not work. The Build Planner provides separate local equipment-plan backups when you need to retain a loadout.
