Large Monster Guide: Targets, Preparation and Loot
Start with Cyclops and Griffin encounters, distinguish combat targets from loot promises, and connect monster materials to your next equipment upgrade.

Choose the encounter you need
A large monster is not just a stronger version of a roadside enemy. Reachable body parts, movement and the possibility of an interrupted encounter change the plan. This reference begins with two documented enemies rather than labelling a short list a complete bestiary.
| Encounter | Main problem to plan for | Detailed reading |
|---|---|---|
| Cyclops | Reaching the eye while avoiding close-range attacks | Cyclops guide |
| Griffin | A flying opponent that can move away from the fight | Griffin guide |
The enemy dossiers provide the specific targeting advice. They also keep known material sources separate from unverified reward quantities.
Prepare roles, not only damage
Before a difficult fight, decide who can reach the target, who can help the party recover and what you will do if the encounter moves into dangerous terrain. A melee character and a ranged character may solve the same targeting problem differently. Our recommendation is to choose companions around the expected situation rather than copy a party without understanding its roles.
Check equipment compatibility in the vocation directory, then inspect your current supplies. The Pawn-party guide and combat notes explain the supporting systems. A route that offers room to regroup is preferable to committing every resource merely because a monster is visible.
Loot is a separate objective
A record that names a material source is not a guarantee that one kill supplies the exact amount needed. Start with the enhancement menu's requirement, identify the source in material runs, and record the amount actually obtained. Do not mark a material goal complete solely because the fight is over.
For the two encounters covered here, the material guide links Cyclops-related Misshapen Eyes and Rugged Bones, and Griffin-related pinions and claws. Drop probabilities and exact respawn intervals have not been established in this dataset. No route is described as an infinite, guaranteed farming loop.
Keep different encounters distinct
This page is an entry point, not a list of every boss, variant or expansion enemy. A guide to one named creature should not be applied automatically to a similarly shaped enemy with different attacks. Before using encounter advice, check the name and the circumstances in the detailed record. The promotional header is not evidence of an individual weakness, spawn location or completed fight.
